AI-powered lighting estimation from AISquared

Turn any project document into a priced proposal, in minutes.

Excel counts, PDF scopes, scanned field sheets, photos and forwarded emails. Drop in whatever the job came with. Sparx Lumen reads it, prices it in a real costing sheet and builds a customer-ready proposal, while Lumen, its AI assistant, checks the work.

The problem

The same project gets typed in four times before anyone sends a quote.

Excel counts, PDF scopes, photos, a last-minute email. Before you price a single fixture, someone has to reconcile and retype it all.

01

Your estimators are the bottleneck.

Senior people spend hours copying counts and hunting for wattages instead of pricing and winning work. With electricians in short supply, every hour lost in the office tends to show up in the field later.

02

The costly mistakes are the ones you don’t see.

A missing lift rental, permit fee or disposal line. A labor rate left at zero. A fixture price from two years ago. Labor alone can be 30–50% of project cost, so one wrong assumption can wipe out the margin on a job.

03

Incentives make or break the price.

Your customer is buying a payback, not just fixtures. If the utility incentive is miscalculated, the net price is wrong, however good the rest of the maths is.

How it works

From inbox to proposal in four steps

  1. 1

    Drop in documents.

Spreadsheets, PDFs, scans, photos, Word files or emails, in any mix.

  2. 2

    Review what was read.

Answer open questions, confirm estimates and tick the lines to keep.

  3. 3

    Price in the sheet.

Adjust lines and columns yourself, or ask Lumen to make the change.

  4. 4

    Send the proposal.

A 1-page summary and a full quote PDF, on your letterhead.

Reads every format the job came with

Upload as many documents as the job has. Every fixture line lands in one review table, ready to price. Customer, address, building type and scope fill in from the documents automatically.

Asks before it guesses

When the documents leave a price open, Sparx Lumen asks you instead of inventing one. Values it inferred are marked “estimated” and stay unticked until you confirm them. Nothing reaches the quote until you add it.

A real costing spreadsheet, not a form

Paste straight from Excel, drag to fill, undo anything and export to CSV. Labor, material sell, unit price and subtotals calculate for you. Add your own calculated columns with a few clicks. Fixture suggestions and price checks come from your past quotes.

Lumen knows every number on the job

Ask it things in plain English. Lumen runs what-ifs, such as labor 10% higher or markup at 20%. It flags missing wattages, zero labor rates and prices far off your past jobs.

When you ask it to add a lift rental and a permit fee, it stages both changes for your approval and logs them.

“What did we last charge for a 2x4 T8 retrofit?”

“Is the ComEd incentive fully applied?”

“What’s missing from this costing?”

Proposals your customer can say yes to

One click produces what the customer sees. The 1-page summary shows scope, investment, utility incentives and net price. The full quote PDF adds the fixture schedule, energy savings and payback, terms and a signature block.

Incentives are calculated from the watts saved, including programs such as Made-in-IL bonuses. Email the quote, then record whether it was won or lost.

Questions

Does it work with handwritten field sheets?+

Yes. Scanned PDFs and photos of field sheets, handwritten notes and whiteboards are all supported. Review flagged lines before pricing, just as you would with a new estimator.

Do we have to change how we collect site data?+

No. Sparx Lumen starts from the documents you already get. You don’t need a new audit app or template.

Does it replace our ERP or field-service software?+

No. Sparx Lumen handles the part before the quote goes out: reading, pricing, checking and proposing. Your existing systems keep running the job.

Will it use our pricing?+

Yes. It uses your workspace defaults, and its price checks and fixture suggestions draw on your own past quotes.
